Description
RA-strarium is an augmented reality experience developed in partnership with the Musée des Arts et Métiers ( MuAM | French museum of Arts and Sciences ).
It is centered around the Astrarium, a historical object designed to represent the movement of the planets around the Earth. Due to its geocentric model and the need to rewind it every two hours, the Astrarium was ultimately considered a failure.
The experience invites users to enter their date of birth on a tablet, then observe the motion of the planets above the Astrarium, surrounded by a galactic universe composed of stars and mechanical gears, until it reaches the position it was at that date.
This AR experience is available on January 17 and 18 as part of the Flops?! exhibition.
